Do Atlanta cause what the heck is going on there
No guillotines used in English decaptitation episodes.
It's not 'The Strand' but simply 'Strand'. Before Bazalgette's sewage construction, there was a beach there [various strands can be found in Cornwall today].
Also..."Tems." Just say "Tems."
Kinda brushed over sir Christopher Wren. He was MP for Weymouth and Portland. Yes, Portland, where all the stone for his famous buildings came from. Portland stone found it's way to some pretty famous buildings across the globe.
Map men map men, map map map...oh wait
Love the vid can’t stress how much, but all that effort just say Thames wrong.
Hi, do you live in Utah?
u shud do a video on Mumbai
Is there something you can do in london which is fun, historic-y and cheap?
Tore down a statue! How dare they, its olden days Antifa
Me being Indian , Always knew that British robbed a lot of ancient artifacts but never knew that they even robbed words loll.
The dutch word for beach is also strand dutch and english are actualy realy clossely related only frisian is more clossely related to english
Very interesting and great video. Born and bred Londoner and still always finding out new things about London.
Cool!!
I love our history
Aww the good old days, where we would pull down statues of our enemies in unity and not fight ourselves over it!
14:12 The rest of the world: "Roundabout" NYC: "Traffic circle"
This Londoner really enjoyed your video and learned a thing or two. 😊
Great video Daniel! As someone who has lived on and off in Tokyo for the last 35 years, this was fascinating new information delivered in a very engaging and accessible way. Keep up the great work!
I love maps and studying maps. Thank you. Oh and history.
19:40 fun fact. years ago i saw someone model Wrenn's remodelled london and the throughput of traffic and it was much improved. the other reason for rebuilding as was it that it was faster.
Do Oslo, Norway.
See, you do have some history
lol you got my dog on video :)
would be interesting to see rome's map explained, i bet that would be a great story
would be interesting to see rome's map explained, i bet that would be a great story
Very intriguing episode!
5:16 I had to take an extra look, never seen the letter Æ used in english but there it was on the Prætorian way (left side of the map).
It ended going up to 220th street
As a revolutionary war fence historian, I can say this is a well done video.
Excellent vid - subscribed. But the Black Death & the Plague were two different events
They sure don't make fences like they used to
I'm enjoying this video so much! I especially appreciate the section on African American history. I've sadly never been to New Orleans, but my grandma was from the French Quarter, so this is fun to see. You should do Detroit's map, which would also ideally include Windsor, ON. (Detroit is NO's older sister, really.) It's an interesting story. "Palimpsest" (pronounced "PAL imp sist") is frequently used to describe Detroit's map, too. I imagine it could be used of every city with a history prior to the automobile.
I'm near there all the time! Never knew that fence was that old
MAP MEN! MAP MEN! MAP MAP MAP MEN MEN!
Dont tell the liberals about it, theyll replace it with statues of black lesbians
Thank you for sharing. I've been following Utah treasure hunt 2024
Daniel would you be able to make a video on Bologna Italy?
In the City of London there are NO roads. Streets and lanes, sure. But no roads. - _Doc E Brown_
The British guy in the video sounds exactly like Max Fosh
hhrrmm...there was a slave trade in London? Why is this never talked about? Where were the slave markets located?
No.
18:49 Who also happened to be a Freemason. This video just makes me feel sad over the cultural decay of present day London. So much history being forgotten, maligned, and even erased.
4:10 Question: Against whom were the Romans trying to defend London? Answer: Anyone who didn't like the Romans...and there were many who didn't.
Londonistan now
What have Romans ever done for ya, right?
To think precious gold was smelted into bullets and shot into random british people, and we will never get them back
